Curriculum Growth and Development

2013 - 2014

During the lead up to the introduction of Curriculum 2014, we worked hard to adapt our curriculum to meet the new National Curriculum guidelines whilst also creating “wow” experiences for the children and innovating around the topics covered.  From September 2014 we adopted the new national curriculum.

Following the introduction of Curriculum 2014, we undertook a complete review of the curriculum and topics covered across all year groups, introducing more dynamic topics and a clearer focus for trips and external activities.

The governing body were also involved in reviewing the curriculum development process and reported on this in Governors’ meetings.

2014 – 2016

During the next phase of curriculum development, following feedback from our Church School Partnership award and as part of our work towards part two of the award, we evolved our curriculum provision to further embed our Christian values in school through explicit teaching across each of the topics. Our core values of Love, Joy and Peace are revisited over the two year curriculum cycle whilst the remaining six values are visited at least once over the cycle.

An overview of our curriculum is attached below and you can also find links to all the current topics being studied in the newsletters which are held on our class pages.

In addition to the formal curriculum we are proud of the extra curriculum and enrichment activities offered at the school; all of which serve to enhance the educational experiences for the children. Please follow the link below for more information on this aspect of our work.
